Pink Amazon Dolphin

These albino dolphins are found in the Amazon rivers and the Pink Amazon Dolphins are one of the only five freshwater dolphin species that live on the planet. Due to construction of dams, canals, and a change in the river course are major reasons of their extinction. There are 2,000 Pink Amazon Dolphins today but trajectories show that the number will go down in the future.

Golden Lion Tamarin

The Golden Lion Tamarin from Brazil weighs nearly 800 grams, making it one of the smallest mammals. Conversely, it is on the list of great risk of extinction and one of the major causes is that they live in small, fragmented habitats. When 90% of Brazil's rainforests were cleared for logging in the 1980's, there were only 150 members of this species. Although numbers are rising with approximately 3000 today, they are still endangered.
